We were commissioned to supply and install a complete package of bespoke timber windows and doors for a beautiful stone property in Merriott, Somerset.
Located within a sensitive local area, the main objective for this installation was delivering high-performance modern joinery while strictly adhering to local conservation guidelines to preserve the historic architectural integrity of the building.
Conservation Design Meets Modern Energy Efficiency
To respect the character of the property while ensuring optimal thermal performance, all joinery was custom-crafted using specialized slim double-glazed units:
• Slim Glazing Profiles: Engineered with narrow-profile double glazing designed specifically to maintain traditional sightlines, avoiding the heavy, bulky appearance of standard double glazing.
• Authentic Aesthetics: Preserves the natural proportions and shadow lines of historical timber windows while providing a warm, draught-free interior.
Premium Factory Finish & Traditional Ironmongery
Every element was built in our workshop and treated to the highest standard to ensure longevity, durability, and a flawless finish:
• Teknos Spray Finish: Fully factory spray-finished with micro-porous Teknos paint for maximum weather protection against the elements, color-matched precisely to Farrow & Ball – Lime White No. 1.
• Black Butt Hinges: Hung using traditional black butt hinges to deliver a smooth, reliable operation while remaining true to period styling.
• From The Anvil Hardware: Completed with authentic From The Anvil beeswax night vent fasteners and matching window stays, adding a tactile, high-end heritage detail to every room.
The final installation seamlessly blends authentic historical charm with modern thermal efficiency, protecting and enhancing this Merriott stone home for generations to come.
